Job Description:

FULL-TIME ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II: (Division of Business, Math, Science and Technology) 37.5 hours per week, 7:30am - 4:00pm (Monday-Friday) As necessary on a periodic basis the individual appointed to this position may be required to work during early evenings to accommodate the requirements of the work area. Anticipated Start Date: January 2010 (AFSCME Unit Position).

Responsible for performing a wide range of administrative duties in support of the division dean and assistant dean, including but not limited to: assisting in the development of the master schedule and faculty teaching schedules, coordinating the allocation of office space, organizing the ordering of textbooks, scheduling meetings, assisting faculty and students, compiling information to prepare accurate reports, preparing correspondence, maintaining records and filing, answering division office phones, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Three years full-time or equivalent experience in office management/administration or an Associate's Degree required. Strong organizational skills; excellent telephone skills and manner; excellent word processing skills; familiarity with MS office software programs; effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to work well with others at all levels, both internal and external to the College; works well in tight deadline situations; bright, flexible, dependable, well organized; possesses strong initiative; ability to work with minimum supervision required; ability to exercise sound, independent and appropriate judgment. PREFERENCES: Experience in a college office and with Banner software.

Salary: $730.20 - $1030.24 weekly ($37,970.40 - $53,572.48 annually) with full fringe benefits. An appointment outside the bargaining unit must start at Step 1 of the range.
