Job Description:
FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITION/ MATH: Division of Business, Math, Science and Technology, Lawrence/Haverhill Campus. (MCCC/MTA Unit Position) Anticipated start date; September, 2009 Teach Mathematics courses, advise students, maintain office hours, participate in college service and contribute to the enhancement of the curriculum including the development of online courses. A successful candidate should be able to teach mathematics at all levels from developmental math through calculus.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Masters Degree in Mathematics with teaching experience. Demonstrated ability to teach within, and contribute positively to, a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population and campus environment required. Demonstrated sensitivity to academically disadvantaged students. The applicant must possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to demonstrate his/her ability and willingness to be involved in curriculum design and professional development in the area of mathematics instruction. The applicant should be familiar with the use of technology in the classroom. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Community college teaching experience. Bi-lingual (Spanish and English).
Additional Information:
Salary: Anticipated starting salary range is $40,000 - $55,000 per academic year; complete fringe benefit package. Actual salary will be determined in accordance with classification determination of MCCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.
